My name is Clifford Williams and I have been with the Hunger Network for 7 years. I have never missed a day providing and serving the people. I met Ms. Sue Friend in 2005 when I transferred to Calvary Lutheran . I have volunteered my services at other Hunger Network Hunger Centers before I came to Calvary. My dreams are to be able to treat people better than what I experienced when I was out there. Before my life turned around, I was treated poorly—taking me 16 programs in 2 years to get on my feet. I felt that it was too long. “The Sky is the Limit. You can do anything if you put your mind to it, work hard, and give it your all.” My goal in life is to have a family oriented center for my clients to call “their own center.”—to put smiles where there are frowns. During 2009, Our Family Home Center served 9,615 clients during 50 weeks, totaling 4,416 households. In addition to offering our three mainstay programs :pantry, clothes, and hot meals; we also started a kids club and seniors group. Maintaining contact and educating the children within the East Cleveland community is essential for progress. We will continue to make a difference in their lives and ensure that each generation prevail. We served 274 new families and 342 homeless people this past year and are looking to expand in 2010. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at one of our programs. |
